Introducing Insights: revenue, members, and activity at a glance
Running a club is mostly invisible work. You set up plans, take payments, send tickets, answer questions, and at the end of the month, the only way to know how it's going is to scroll through a list of transactions and guess. Insights is the new admin tab that replaces the guessing.
What it shows
Open the Insights tab inside any club you admin and you get a single page covering the last 12 months:
- Total revenue, average transaction value, and pending revenue (the money sitting in draft/abandoned carts)
- Monthly revenue as a 12-column bar chart, stacked by source so you can see membership renewals versus event ticket sales month over month
- Revenue by source and by payment provider, Stripe versus PayPal, in case one is doing all the lifting
- Top revenue plans so you know which tier is actually paying the bills
- New paid members per month, your acquisition trend, the leading indicator for next quarter
- Engagement: active members by plan, by gender, top event creators, top ticket holders
Why it matters
Most clubs don't need a BI tool. They need to answer four questions: Are we growing? Where is the money coming from? Which plans are working? What's the next thing to fix? Insights is built around those questions. No filters to learn, no dashboards to configure. Open the tab and the answer is there.
Where to find it
Sidebar, Admin Menu, Insights. Only admins of the club can see it. Membership-plan editors and event editors don't get access, so revenue numbers stay private to the people who need them. The same access check applies to the backend, so the data can't be scraped by lower-privilege users either.
What's next
The dashboard is intentionally lean for this first cut. The next natural additions are renewal-rate tracking, churn (memberships that lapsed without renewing), and revenue forecasts based on the active member base. ClubCP is free for every club and built by one person. Sponsor on GitHub to keep features like this coming.
